Social competences
If you believe in what you do, you can achieve great things. I firmly believe that social skills are key qualifications for success.
Analysis & Understanding
In all my activities, the ability to quickly grasp situations and structures and make them usable has played a major role. As mentioned in Empathy, I believe in the principle of “first understand – then act”. Only what I understand, I can grasp and make comprehensible and thus usable for the system.
Communication
As well as analysis & understanding, communication and the models behind it are the daily basis of my work. I started studying communication psychology in college and haven't stopped since. Rhetoric, presentation, facilitation, mediation, coaching, all this and more is based on good and thoughtful communication.
Empathy
I have learned and taught a lot about empathy in my studies and in my work training nurses and medical professionals. Colleagues and coachees benefit from this. I always try to follow the principle “first understand – then act” and my empathy helps me a lot.
Leadership
During my time as a naval soldier on a frigate and later as the owner of an agency and academy with more than 40 employees, as well as the managing director of the operating company of a cultural monument, I was able to gather a lot of experience in leadership and put it to immediate use. Today, I deal intensively with models of the “new understanding of leadership” and act according to the idea of “servant leadership” to be effective with the right mix of roles and methods.
Networking
Networks are the foundation for successful collaboration and a sustainable basis for continuous development. I accompany networks, I inspire and enable people to network and to find new ways of working together.
Organization & Structure
The right measure is crucial, especially when it comes to organization and structure. Neither of these should be an end in itself, but rather should serve a goal. Especially around agility and new work, the right measure is important and gives the acting system security and design freedom. The design and the scaling of structures and processes are part of my core competencies.
Project Management
I started in the classic project management era, and over the years I have been exposed to agile PM methodologies. This gave me the opportunity to broaden my expertise in both areas. Today, I successfully support teams and executives in leading projects, and I especially like to accompany the selection process of which methodological approach is suitable for the respective project because both ways of working have their place.
Solution focus
My work is my passion and gives me positive energy every day. It allows me to grow with each new challenge and achieve new goals.
Technical competences
Technology is a means to an end. For me, that means being open to the latest developments and technologies that can help me achieve my goals. With the right tools in place, effectiveness and efficiency are improved in equal measure.
Google-Workspace
Over the past few years, I have come to know, use, and appreciate the products in Google Workspace. This suite of products effectively and easily extends my collaboration capabilities.
iWork & MS-Office
I am very familiar with both the Microsoft and Apple Office offerings and have years of expertise and experience working with them, even across systems.
Trello
Whether Trello, Asana or other platforms, digital Kanban boards are tools I love to use. I have the most experience with Trello, having built many creative applications with it over the years.
Zoom & Meet
Video conferencing has also had a significant impact on my work in recent years. For me, Zoom and Meet were the most important tools. The classroom features, polling, and whiteboard allowed me to work effectively despite the pandemic.
Lucid Chart
First understand – then act, I believe in this principle. I like to use Lucid Chart to make complex processes or structures in organizations, teams and other systems “talkable”.
Miro
Where the Google Jamboard reaches its limits, Miro just takes off. That's why I like to use it in workshops or as a facilitation tool.
SmartSheet
For resource planning, seminar and workshop offerings, including TN management, trainer booking, feedback and follow-up, I have come to appreciate SmartSheet.
Workday
In the past, Workday has always provided me with a foundation for managing people, teams, and their skill sets. This allows for a variety of matching options for tasks and peer groups.
Linguistic competences
Language connects people and opens doors. Those who master a language can use it as a powerful tool, and even with basic knowledge, it is possible to build trust and bridges between people.
English
I am fluent in English, both spoken and written. I facilitate teams in English, lead workshops and seminars, and act as a keynote speaker.
French
My French is a little rusty because I haven't used it in years. But when I am in France, I do not get lost and I do not starve. Let us say there is a solid basic knowledge and with some practice I can build on it.
German
German is my native language. Since I was born in Osnabrück and lived in different regions of Germany, I speak accent-free High German. This is especially advantageous when working with foreign-speaking colleagues.
Latin
It was not my favorite subject in school, but in Rome it helps me explain the inscriptions on the churches and monuments to my son. When I worked with my clients in Italy, it was a good basis to at least understand the meaning of what was spoken.
